Although there are high doubts in the “existence” of this disease, after a thorough search on the Internet, we have found some information about the possible blue waffle symptoms.
According to these sources, the symptoms are as follows:
- Itching in the vaginal area
- Inflammation of the vaginal area
- Unusual vaginal discharge
- Some parts of the vaginal area change their color into bluish or purple (this is where the name of this disease came from)
Well, if you are familiar with the symptoms of some other STDs like vaginitis, you may notice that the symptoms are a bit similar. We can also say that these symptoms are rather generic and can be seen in almost any other sexually transmitted disease, but we don’t recommend you to make the diagnosis by yourself. It is always better to consult a doctor, simply to make sure you are getting the right diagnose and treatment. And since we have mentioned vaginitis, some sources say that the blue waffle disease is possibly a really bad case of this disease, most likely an untreated and neglected case.
If, by any chance you have some of the symptoms mentioned above, it doesn’t necessarily mean that you are affected by the blue waffle. In this case, panic is not your friend. As we have said earlier in another post, we aren’t sure that this disease really exists. If you experience some of the symptoms, either go to your doctor immediately to do some tests, or wait a little to see if the symptoms will go away. However, the first option is usually much better.
What can be the causes of these symptoms? Well there are certainly several causes, and some of them are:
- poor immunity and stress (stress can often lower your immunity which makes you prone to various infections)
- vaginal injury (no lubrication, using odd objects for masturbation)
- poor personal hygiene (some sources say that the color change in the vaginal area is caused by accumulation of sweat, vaginal discharge and similar for a longer period of time)
Before you start worrying too much about the possible blue waffle disease, make some changes to reduce stress and make your immunity stronger, check for any vaginal injuries with your doctor and treat them, and last but not the least, take good care of your personal hygiene (a good baby soap and wearing cotton underwear will be enough at first).
And finally, you can only talk to your doctor. If you make the wrong diagnose, and treat yourself with the wrong medications, your overall health will be at great risk, and that is certainly something we don’t need. So, safe sex, good hygiene, and less stress will not save you from the blue waffle disease only, but from other popular STDs.
